A door knob lock button stuck has a few quick fixes that you can try out. Pull the spindle from the center of the latch if applicable. Check the alignment of the deadbolt against the strike on the jamb if the lock is difficult to turn when the door is closed or the door doesn t lock at all. You re going to need a screwdriver with a skinny rod because the thicker rod won t be able to fit through the hole.

The knob will not turn to retract the stuck door latch. If the locking mechanism is a latchbolt the kind of bolt that is spring loaded and has one angled edge and the angled edge is facing away from you you can hook it with a wire hanger. Use the screwdriver to push the opposite side of the doorknob from the door and latch. If your home has a lot of interior doors that lock sooner or later you re bound to lose the key lock it inside the room or discover your toddler has locked himself in and cannot get out.

Push and hold the button in. Use a file to widen the hole on the strike or remove the strike with a screwdriver and reposition it on the jamb. If your bathroom door has a button lock from the inside and a little hole on the knob on the outside as seen in the above video then a screwdriver can certainly help you out. More force is needed to turn the knob and unstick the latch.

Start by trying to push the lock button. The handle or knob must be jiggled to unstick the latch.
